Marble Porcelain Tile Installation for Pravin's Jewellers: A Showcase of Craftsmanship and Precision

When Pravins Jewellers approached us to complete the flooring for their luxurious new boutique, we knew the project demanded nothing short of perfection. As specialists in high-end porcelain and marble-effect tile installations, our goal was to create a flawless, long-lasting, and elegant floor that complemented the premium aesthetic of Pravins’ retail space.
Expert Floor Preparation: Grinding the Concrete Base
Before the first tile was laid, extensive floor preparation was essential. The existing concrete subfloor had to be ground down between 10–15mm across approximately 100 square metres. Using a professional concrete floor grinder, we carefully removed material to achieve a perfectly level surface.
This precision grinding was vital to ensure the new tiled surface sat flush with the shopping mall entrance, allowing customers to step seamlessly from the mall into the jewellery store without any uneven transitions or trip hazards.
Proper substrate preparation is one of the most critical aspects of any professional tile installation, and this job showcased the importance of that foundation work in achieving a truly high-end result.
Installing the White Matt Marble-Effect Porcelain Tiles
For the main shop floor, we installed stunning white matt marble-effect porcelain tiles. These tiles were chosen for their timeless elegance, durability, and ease of maintenance — ideal for a luxury retail setting that experiences heavy foot traffic every day.
The matt finish provides a refined, contemporary look while reducing glare from the store’s lighting. The subtle grey veining pattern mimics natural marble, adding depth and character to the floor without the maintenance demands of genuine stone.
Precision Tile Cutting with Sigma & Rubi Tools
Accuracy was key throughout this installation. We used two industry-leading tile cutters to ensure perfect cuts and consistent finishes:
The Sigma Series 4 Tile Cutter – offering unrivalled precision and smooth scoring for porcelain tiles.
The Rubi TX Max 600 Tile Cutter – ideal for handling large-format tiles and achieving clean cuts even on thick materials.
These tools enabled us to maintain perfect alignment and achieve tight, consistent joints across the floor, ensuring the marble-effect pattern flowed naturally throughout the space.
Design Detailing: Curved Transitions and Custom Trims
One of the standout elements of this project was the curved transition between the tiled flooring and the carpeted seating area. The sweeping curve runs gracefully through the boutique, complementing the natural flow of the shop layout from the front display to the rear consultation areas.
To achieve this, we hand-cut each tile to match the precise curvature of the design. We then installed a special custom-made flexible trim, which was specifically ordered for this project. This trim allowed us to create a perfectly smooth edge that bends seamlessly along the curve — a level of detail that elevates the entire installation.
Extending Quality Throughout the Shop
Our work didn’t stop at the showroom floor. The same high level of craftsmanship continued through the counter display areas, the shopfront window zones, and even the back-of-house bar and kitchen areas. Every space was finished with the same attention to detail, ensuring a consistent aesthetic and long-lasting durability throughout the entire store.
Finishing Touches: Kelmore Grout for a Perfect Finish
To complete the installation, we used Kelmore premium tile grout — known for its strength, colour consistency, and stain resistance. Kelmore’s product provided the ideal finishing touch, sealing the porcelain tiles and enhancing their overall appearance while ensuring long-term performance in a busy commercial environment.
